Our boys were treated with a very special guest! Mr. Joe Lombardi stopped in and surprised the boys with a visit to Waldo Burton.
Joe is an American professional football coach and former player who is the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos. He previously served as the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers. He is the grandson of Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Vince Lombardi.
In New Orleans, Joe is best remembered for his work with the New Orleans Saints. He was hired by the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant and was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2009 and the Saints would go on to win the Super Bowl that season.
Joe talked to the boys about the importance of attitude not only in sports, but in life. He answered a lot of questions before moving to the backyard to play a little catch.
The boys had a great time afterward having him autograph footballs, cleats, t-shirts, socks, and the list goes on.
Thank you, Joe, for being a friend of Waldo Burton and taking the time out of your evening to visit with our boys!
